You can book Charles as a speaker or an artist for your corporate event, wedding or charity function.
When booked as an artist, Charles will wander among your guests cutting portraits as he goes. Cutting a silhouette takes him between 30 seconds and 3 minutes, so many of your guests will have a chance to pose for him. Charles will talk about his work and answer questions as he goes. Each silhouette comes mounted on an attractive card for guests to take away as a souvenir of your event.
When booked as a speaker, Charles will take the audience on an entertaining journey back in time, exploring the history of this traditional English craft. Charles has been cutting silhouettes for more than 20 years and has recently published a book "Mastering Silhouettes", so he surely has something to say! The talk will be tailored to your event, and he will bring up a key audience member or two, to have their faces cut out and some secrets of his art revealed.

Charles Burns is an artist, author and speaker who began his career as a Covent Garden street artist. He is, today, the UK’s busiest and best-known silhouette artist. Working with just a pair of scissors, and a pocketful of paper, he cuts his inimitable portraits at some of the most prestigious events in the UK and abroad. Guests will be amazed, both by his enthusiasm for his subject, his skill as an entertainer and the accuracy of his cuttings.
